Solstice Tea Brew Guide

Welcome to your master brewing guide.  To extract the cleanest flavors, richest aromas, and intended benefits from every blend, temperature and time are everything.  Use these precise notes to perfect your daily ritual:

Powders and Green Teas: Water for green teas should be kept below boiling to prevent bitterness and protect delicate antioxidants.

  • Hojicha Green Tea Powder:

Water temp: 175-180°F

Ratio: 1 tsp powder per 8 oz water/milk

Instructions: Whisk or froth vigorously with a small amount of hot water until smooth and creamy before topping off with the remaining water or steaming milk.

  • Zenith Moroccan Mint:

Water temp: 175-180°F

Steep time: 2-3 mins

Instructions: use 1-2 tsp per 8 oz water.  The cooler temp ensures the bright citrus and floral jasmine notes stay smooth and crisp.

Black Teas: They thrive with fully boiling water to properly unfurl the leaves and release their deep, robust profiles.

  • Autumn Dawn English Breakfast:

Water temp: 203-212° F (full boil)

Steep time: 3-5 mins

Instructions: Use 1 tsp per 8 oz of water.  Stands up beautifully to a splash of milk and sugar.

  • Zenith Citrus Earl Grey:

Water temp: 203-212°F

Steep time: 3-5 mins

Instructions: Use 1 tsp per 8 oz water; be careful it to exceed 5 mins to keep the bergamot and citrus oils perfectly balanced.

  • Amber Flare Chai:

Water temp: 203-212°F (full boil)

Steep time: 5 mins

Instructions: Use 1-2 tsp per 8oz water.  For a traditional preparation, simmer the tea leaves directly in a 50/50 mix of water and milk on the stovetop, then strain.

Herbal Fusions: Herbal blends are incredibly forgiving and require boiling water to draw out the deep fruit, spice, and botanical flavors.

  • Solar Eclipse Herbal Fusion:

Water temp: 203-212°F

Steep time: 5-7 mins

Instructions: Use 1-2 tsp per 8oz water.  Herbal blends don't get bitter when over-steeped, so let it ride for a richer flavor.

  • Crimson Horizon Herbal Fusion:

Water temp: 203-212°F

Steep time: 5-7 mins

Instructions: Use 1-2 tsp per 8 oz water.  Excellent served hot, or poured over ice for a vibrant, refreshing summer drink.

  • Solstice Fireside:

Water temp: 203-212°.F

Steep time: 5-7 mins

Instructions: Use 1-2 tsp per 8 oz water.  Let it steep fully to capture the deep, warming comfort of the spice and wood notes.

  • Solstice Mango Sizzle:

Water temp: 203-212°F

Steep time: 5-7 mins

Instructions: Use 1-2 tsp per 8 oz water.  A long steep coaxes out the ultimate juicy sweetness and subtle kick of this blend.
